Default Lucas Macro Flash Bracket

Has anyone used a Lucas Macro Flash Bracket? What is your impression. I thought it looked pretty interesting but it's $200.

I purchased a dual version of that sort of design (not this manufacturer) and although it seemed like a good idea, it didn't really work out for my MT-24 flash heads.

It was not as easy to tweak the position of the heads for different zoom levels on the MP-E lens.

I used Fotopro dual flexi arms before...quite similar to this....the arms will droop after a while.

You can use a lens hood or tripod collar/mount ring or Cokin filter holder/adapter as your flash bracket:

If you like that style... you could do it for less and maybe with more load capacity http://quiglag.com/2007/03/30/diy-fl...-flash-bracket

I will be trying to build one in a couple of weeks..

Thanks for the information. The flex line didn't look like it would hold a large flash without drooping but Mark says he uses the 580's on them. Still

sealife makes very sturdy brackets for flash and lighting but they are pretty expensive. http://www.sealife-cameras.com/accessories/lighting

also the intovva flex arm is made for big heavy underwater flashes so I would assume that they are a little more sturdy than the lucas brackets and much cheaper than the sealife product http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...RVPTESV3YSVD7R

Whether the Loc-Line will hold a flash depends on the size used. I have some 1" that is very solid for holding a flash, though a little tough to get in the right position. I've also tried 1/4", and it's useless for holding a flash.
