Default Water Damaged S90 - Worth Repairing?

Obviously the S90 is not designed to be water proof, as I managed to confirm by getting it doused on vacation while taking pics of a water ride. I did not anticipate the wall of water it generated. I wasn't able to do the rice treatment right away, but two days later. After a bit, most functions returned, but it is now 100% DOA.

Has anyone sent in an S90 (or similar) to Canon for service after water damage? I'm wondering if the repair cost will outweigh the value. In the meantime, I sprung for a new S100.

Usually they're reluctant to even try repairs to (especially severely) water-damaged cameras, as there's always the likelihood that something that hasn't yet failed will, even after they've repaired the detectable damage. Something else may have salts (chlorine water treatment can cause these) and be slowly corroding away at connections, so short of a complete replacement of the camera, they wouldn't be able to ensure a guaranteeable repair.

Sounds like a candidate for the CLP program.
