Watching these with interest.

If they are more robust than the pixel kings, I may be considering an upgrade...

I received clarification from Yongnuo when I questioned the use of the phrase “pass-through” in their eBay listings.
  • A flash can be mounted on the on-camera transmitter’s hotshoe. It will act as far as possible like a camera-mounted flash. The hotshoe is not a “remote”.
  • The hotshoe is fully controlled by the YN-622C.
  • A major limitation is that the Master/Slave capabilities of the flash are disabled. This means that it is not possible to use both Canon’s light-pulse control system and the 622’s radio system. (Just like the 600EX-RT which can be either radio or light-pulse, but not both simultaneously.) With the low price of the 622’s, there is no need to avoid the cost of a few more units.
  • The transmitter-mounted flash will not respond to the camera menu’s manual zoom settings. This allows the zoom settings to be made independently of the other flashes. Auto-zoom still works if it is set on the flash.
  • The flash will be in Group A.

I'm wondering how many people are gonna pick up the 560EX's now just for this exact reason...

Sweet - my finger's hovering longingly over the "buy now" buttons, but I'm forcing myself to wait for user reviews before going there...

...it's hard...
