Location for family photoshoot in/around LA ?

Guys,
A friend of mine will com to visit me here in LA from another country, and he wants me to take some of family pics of his family outdoor. (family of 5 just in case that makes any difference).
Do you Guys have any info/suggestion about nice location for family photoshoot ?

The bluff just above the Santa Monica Pier is nice. It has nice fences they can lean on, with the ocean as a backdrop. Great trees as well. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic there on that boardwalk, but the area is so long, you can always find space to take pics.

Unfortunately all the really great spots are pretty far from L.A.

When I was looking for somewhere to take photos of my son and niece for my parents Xmas gift (picked up my niece in Torrance) and the places I had planned to go weren't working out. I started getting really nervous the later it got (to make it worse, I had waited so long, it was the last day I could get it done). So I picked a spot in the distance and following the ocean, started driving that direction. Led me to this gorgeous cliff with some big trees, but also some open areas, overlooking the ocean.

Not me, I was heading South from Torrance. I believe I was in Rancho Palos Verdes.

oh I see. There is a beautiful spot located on the corner of gaffey and 37th st located in san pedro. It's called the korean friendship bell and it puts you very hih above the ocean. It is an amazing place to shoot at sunset.

I have never heard of that, it sounds awesome, thanks for the tip!
There was another place, wish I could remember the name or how to get there. It was a small road off of PCH, I want to say between Malibu and no further than Point Mugu, but it could of also be right before Malibu (I haven't been there in over 10 years). Anyway, you take the road off of PCH and there is a parking lot. You have to hike a bit (not too far) but it is a spectacular view overlooking PCH and the ocean.
