Default sx-40 and chdk

Is it me or is the chdk very finickey to use.

not the easiest thing to use. its not designed for ease of use or with a pretty UI. purely for added functionality.

It does take practice, but after a while it becomes easy. The worst is when you hand the camera to someone who doesn't know how to use CHDK and you haven't unlocked the SD card to bring the camera back to its normal interface.

I started several responses to dispute your statement but you are correct it is difficult to use. Lots to learn and lots of trial and error to feel comfortable with it. One thing I do is I set the reset overrides on power on so others using my camera don't get messed up. And I play with it a lot. If you are not using overrides and just additional display info it is just like normal with more information. I found the PDF manual is helpful and keep it on my tablet.
