Default Anyone ever rented underwater housings from online?

Looking to possibly rent a housing/lens pod for about a week and no one local to me has them. Im going to waikiki so maybe they rent them there somewhere? But anyways Im looking online and most places want $500+ for a week, and Im looking for references to places members have had good experiences with.

Several forum members are in the rental business: Where Can I rent Lenses

I don't know about this one: http://www.hawaiicamera.com/

How deep are you going? Personally, for $500, I'd think about buying a waterproof camera.

i've rented a lens from Lighthaus about 4 years ago, worked out fine. Nice people, you'd have to ask them what they've got for underwater photography.

Underwater housings for DSLRs are very expensive, but they demand a lot of protection from a variety of abuses.

In Hawaii particularly the surf photographers take a pounding. Get a hold of Clark Little (through Facebook is easy). He's one of the premier surf photographers right now, specializing in shorepound photos (the waves that break with violent force right on the sand in many parts of Hawaii). He uses Nikon, but could give you a ton of good information. He's very approachable. He also has his own website and you can contact him through that (he is based in Oahu): http://www.clarklittlephotography.com/

I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a housing on Craigslist (Hawaii version).

And, of course, they might have rentals there.

What are you planning to shoot?
