Hahaha. Thanks for letting me in... it's a great strap. Love how it operates and hangs on. My side.

You're welcome.

Question:
(1) Does your Luma Cinch smell strongly of "chemicals"?
(2) The pictures show the pulley tab as black, however, mine is dark brownish/maroon. Can anyone confirm if they've switched the pulley tab? Definitely prefer the black, as it also appears to be a different material than what I have.

Mine does not smell of chemicals and the pulley tab is jet black, did you get yours directly from Luma Labs ?

Not a fan girl yet but did have one sent to a friend in Portland so it would be sure to be there when I fly out next Saturday. Figured with the shipping time to MI that it had a better chance of making it across the city than across the country. :)

The Cinch is my first purchase based on recommendations/research on this forum. That and the really cool video showing the Cinch in action. Looking forward to a much better experience than that darned Canon strap!

Yup! Directly from Luma. Maybe they changed the materials... Hopefully not for cost savings... The black looks way better not only aesthetically but quality wise as well. The brownish/maroon one I had was very stiff, smelled of chemicals and the inside of it had random black dime-sized spots. Waiting for a response from their customer supprt, haven't heard from them for about a week now regarding an exchange.

Humm, I'm looking into why we haven't replied to your support email. I stopped handling support a couple of months ago, to focus on future products.

I have no explanation for why your pull tab would be anything but black. All our pull tabs are die cut from a single batch of leather we bought a few months ago and that supply should last us for a few more quarters. All of it is black, it is all from the same batch of cows and was all tanned in a single run.

We do use a stiff/dense leather that feels a bit like cardboard when you first get the Cinch. As you use it, it wears in and softens up. Buttery smooth and soft leather simply would not hold up to getting squeezed and pulled on for very long, and we build the Cinch as something to last virtually forever.

Any way it goes, we'll just swap the funky Maroon one out for a black one, and we can even use the slightly softer leather if you prefer.

I'd just like to say Greg has messaged me to help me process the issue with my order - great customer service from Luma as usual.

Well, is there no end to the dangerous people around here? ;)

Yep, $75 charged on my card. I'll wait for my Luma Cinch to come in the mail.

Hope I like it.
