I've got an A70 and trying to put movies back on using just USB. I don't have a card reader-writer.
Is it possible to put the movies back, i've only seen the "Upload images". Nothing to do with movies. But i figure if you can put pics back on to the camera you must be able to put movies back on somehow. Any Ideas? |

So i have a feeling that its impossible.
How about if i go buy a card reader-writer? Will i be able to do it then, even if the movie isnt edited, just taken off and put back on to save room on the compact flash. |

As far as a card reader is concerned the CF card is just a disk drive. So you can copy/move/delete anything you like. If you intend to play the replaced movie on the camera then don't forget to save/replace the THM file with the AVI! If you forget the THM file then the camera doesn't 'see' the movie

USB readers are pretty generic and usually the software that comes with them is unneeded junk, I got a Dazzle brand reader at Good Guys for 20 bucks.

Any recomendations or things i should look for before buying one? I saw a 6 in one reader, takes 6 different types but doubled the price. |

I got myself one of these
![]() It a Scan USB 7 in 1 Card Reader (SM/MMC/SD/CF/Microdrive/Mstick) . It works very well and only cost me 11.69 GBP. I can even use a compact flash card and an SM card at the same time. I got it because I figured it would offer me some future proofing. The only problems I have with it are that in order for it so 'see' that the card has been removed and re-inserted you have to disconnect it after using 'eject' and then insert the card and then re-connect the USB. XP is not too fond of booting or shutting down either if the device is connected at the time. But having to insert the card and then the USB cable is no big deal. You can get it from these guys Scan by following the link at the top of the page called 'Flash + Smart' and going to the bootom of the page. Where you get it from outside of the UK though I wouldn't know. |
