If so many whiners hadnt bawled about the G12 not being small enough to shove into a pair of tight jeans pockets Canon might not have removed the swivel screen. Too many people to try to satisfy and they once again have to hear all the other half of the whiners crying about no swivel screen. They need to decide what market they want to satisfy and stick with it.

I finally got to handle a G15 in a Best Buy while traveling recently. I liked the size, since it compares size-wise with my G9. I too think a swivel screen would be nice to have, because I like it on my G11. However, the G15 screen is much easier to view than the G9 or G11, so I might be able to accept not having a swivel screen. My "whine" with the G15 is the "short" zoom range vs my G9. I used the G9 for most of trip this year, and enjoyed it once more. I do wish it had the high ISO performance I believe the G15 has though. Still cannot bring myself to give up the G9 at this point. I did use the onboard flash of the G9 more this time for the snapshots of grandkids, etc., and even used full Auto several times to include flash. The results are the kind of keepers you would want to remember the trip, and not worry about high ISO and no flash photo options.

Just ordered a G15 to replace my lost S95 from BuyDig. Their price right now is $409.00 with a cheapie 16gb card and a 'deluxe gadget bag' thrown in. Free shipping also so a little better deal than what Amazon is offering at $429.00.

Pulled a bonehead move and lost the S95 at the Masters by leaving it on my truck bumper and then driving away. Dumbazz.

Good deal. I was going to BuyDig, but ended up going local for about the same price. Don't forget to post some pics!

Fascinating old thread.
I didn't have good luck with my G11, which I just had to have because of the swivel screen. I had loved my G9, and found the '11 lens short for my liking.
Still, I regret not owning this camera.
The images that G15 owners produce interest me. Look forward to seeing more!

Just got a G15 at B&H for $349. Great buy. Like the RAW feature. Good camera for those times when I don't want to carry the 5d.

Also just picked one up from the great B&H sale too. Love this little camera! I have to use it more but this is one I took yesterday.

I do love this camera, but it would have been even better with the pivoting screen. I'm really not sure why they seem to be removing that feature from all their cameras. You have to step all the way up the the G1X to get it and if you do that you may as well get a T5i.

Agreed, Canon have lost my business over this. I'll buy the next G that has a flip screen....fingers crossed.

I just bought a refurbished G15 from Canon for $220, and I like it so far. It handles like my G9, but is faster and better high ISO performance. I may end up selling my G9...or not. Too soon to tell, but I'm keeping both, plus my G11. I used to think the swivel LCD of my G11 was the only way to go, but have actually gone back to my G9 more often. I use a Clearviewer with it, and like that method better than just the LCD of the G11. Still getting used to the controls on the G15 vs the other two, but it's not too challenging.

After selling my Canon G12 from lack of use I just picked up a clean used G15. I like the G15, it's a bit smaller, better high ISO performance and I can't say that I miss the pivoting screen. I paid $210 for it and that makes me like it more since I couldn't find a G16 for less than $300.

Is there any way to update the 15 to have the 16s night time functions such as star trails, nightlapse etc?
