As a techie-geek into electronics and restoring old test gear, I enjoy taking macro shots of circuitry, too.

I agree, Cubdriver has posted some pretty cool shots of old school electronics here too.

Thanks, guys. I have (almost literally) a ton of it, and have plenty more to work on and photograph. I need to try my hand at focus stacking at some point...

Interesting to me because I used to make a living selling the equipment to automate the assembly of printed circuit boards. I started in 1984 when the technology shown in your photos was in vogue, i.e., through-hole technology (all the parts had leads on them that were formed to the right spacing and inserted into holes in the printed circuit board). I sold those forming machines as well wave solder machines that soldered all the leads by running the boards via a conveyor over a wave of molten solder.

By the end of the 80's, most of the parts were put on top and/or bottom of the board.. sitting on the surface. Obviously, that technology was called Surface Mount Technology (SMT).

Nicely done! I like that you captured the happy couple in the reflection on the ring.
I'm pretty sure they were happy too?

A nice image.

I've found heatsinks on computer add-in cards oddly difficult in focus stacking. The odd angles and shadows make setting the focus parameters a challenge.
