Great entries.. thanks for playing! I wondered if someone might submit a shot of diamonds (also called ice-slang), haha..or Cubic Zirconia would have sufficed. ;)

-Kevan- Really cool! I think the B&W really brings out the detail in these feather-like swirls. I'm guessing this is a window? I just wish you might have stopped-down a little, to bring the upper half into focus.

-Maureen- Wicked! That blue/white looks like clouds, so it makes this look like it was taken from below the ice...looking up. (ie. trapped under ice  )

-kbColorado- Great shot! Nice and sharp with excellent DoF...makes that ice pop. I also really like that one (almost circular)hole, center-frame.

-Flo- Very cool! I love that turquoise water, and your composition; those angled lines( remind me of Nike logos) leading me in.

And the winner is...

Maureen! The uncertainty of this shot just keeps me wondering, and piques my interest so much...love this shot!

Great job everyone... the ball's your's Maureen. :)

edit: i just noticed the title Maureen.. still looks like being under ice though.

Well thank you. When we were in Yellowstone, our windshield froze overnite. We got in & turned on the defroster & when the little ice crystals popped out, I snapped off this shot. It was the only picture I took.
Loved All the entries this week; just wish a few more folks had joined us but I know this time of year gets crazy for everyone & participation declines.
Thanks for the hosting duties, Kel.

Thanks Kel for the challenge. That is a wonderful image, Maureen. I kind of liked not knowing exactly what it is before noticing the title.

Kevan, your shot is marvelous as well. Really like that one.

WTG Mo! I think folks are just getting busy with the holidays, nothing to do with the subject. Keep them coming!

Too Bad a Titile is required sometimes :) Actually, I guess I could have been a lot less descriptive to keep you all guessing.

Being quite the slacker, I usually assign the challenge title as my pic title ;)

A hearty congrats to Mo for a stellar image. The mix of crystals and drops...very nice. Everyone put in really nice images this week. As much as I am now opposed to the cold, interesting topic Kel.

I got my challenges and cameras confused and ran out in the midst of a snowfall with my little G, thinking of posting this image on;ly to discover, "Oops!", wrong camera: http://photography-on-the.net .../showthread.php?t=1251664

By chance a couple days later Jack Frost did his voodoo on my CRV's windshield, and while getting the car warmed up, I decided in a rush reaction to fetch my slr and squeeze off some shots before the ice was defrosted to oblivion. You're right Kel, in my hast my focus was a bit off, and I tried getting a bit artsy to disguise some of the blunder.
