This is the first time I've uploaded anything to POTN, all comment and criticism is welcome. I've had a ridiculous amount of trouble with Flikr simply trying to link to the file, which is probably because I've drunk a fair amount of cider tonight (I'm not a complete internet n00b, honest...) so it's the picture of the blue engine on the right when my Flikr page loads. I don't own any editing software yet as I don't yet have enough money to buy any (personally I'd love to get rid of the lamppost on the right of the frame), but I wanted to post this just to see what people thought.

I think that's one, wild looking engine! Nice capture

Canon cameras come with processing software "Digital Photo Professional" on the CD that comes with the camera, you can download the latest version from their website. Install the version on your CD first.

Thanks for the welcome folks! They certainly are quite unusual-looking locomotives; I was lucky enough to see the same loco hurtle past at about 60 mph heading a railtour a couple of months ago; when I get a moment I'll upload a picture or two of that, also. The A4 pacifics hold the world record for steam locomotive speed, one of the class, 'Mallard' reaching 126 mph on one occasion. I absolutely love photographing steam locomotives, there's something very evocative about them; a combination of power and gracefulness, and a steam locomotive working hard in a snowy environment is a sight to be seen! All the best folks!

DP.

This is a shot of her when she was on home turf at the Mid Hants approaching Ropley Station, before she had the disguise job done on her :)
