Default The NFL playoffs

If your team made it to the playoffs please let us know which team is it. If your team didn't make it, also let us know what's your team *and* which team you would like to see do well.

I'll start. As you can see from my avatar my team is the SF 49ers. Sadly they are a horrible team right now and it will be funny to put them and the playoffs in the same sentence Heck they were eliminated even before the season started But hey, there's always next season, or the next, or...

I'd love to see the Seattle Seahawks do well, I like the guys in our division to excel and advance.

To make the thread somewhat related to photography I'll post links to photos that I think you might find interesting. SI always have great sport photos (obviously).

So share with us your NFL team and interest. And would be nice if you can link to photo(s) of your team that you really like.

I would like to see the Manning brothers make it to the big game - NY Giants v Indianapolis Colts. I would like to Tony Dungey win it all.

For those who don't know what the NFL is, here is a link to the league's official site.

Oh, and expect some jokes about what's the "real" football

I have a story, if that will be okay? In 1988, the Broncos lost in one of the most horrible Super Bowls in history. My husband, raised there, was devastated. In the middle of the night, I went into labor, 2 weeks early, and he wouldn't get out of bed, with the only thing coming out of his mouth, "I can't believe they lost." I had to turn on the light and start packing before he would believe I was really in labor. Daniel was born 4 hours later.

Needless to say, Broncos, all the way for him. I live in D.C., so Red Skins playing tomorrow, all of D.C. is holding it's breath. I am from NYC and a Giants fan. It's going to be a long playoff season at my house. I love FOOTBALL!

I went to a Red Skins game two years ago, 50 yard line, 18th row from the bottom, 45 degrees outside. No camera. AHHHHHH! My 85 1.8 could have taken great shots from that distance. I could have cried that night.

I'm with you re: Tony Dungey. I really want him to get a ring, he deserve it. He came close in Tampa so hopefully he'll make it this time.

I've always liked the NYG, they seem to play old school football, good running game with good defense.

Opps, sorry SuzyView that we (my team) made your husband feel that way. I can understand how he felt. If it will make him feel better, his wife's team beat the 9ers in one playoff game that I was depressed the whole day and the next after the loss.

Well, to make life easier, the Broncos did win a few since. But my hubby is the type that wants to watch the game alone so no one sees his complete loss of control when the Broncos make a bad play. It's actually really entertaining just to watch him agonize .

Maybe we should start the thread that asks, how do you watch the Super Bowl? Alone, with friends, at a bar, which?

Good idea. But let's wait for the SB for that, it should be a fun thread

I was born in Massachusetts and lived on the East coast for 10 years. I remember when the Patriots were the Boston Patriots and I have always loved them.
While there are a few teams and a lot of players throughout the league that I really like (Peyton Manning, David Carr, Donavon McNabb, Tiki Barber, The Eagles, The Colts, Seattle Seahawks..... the list goes on....) I have stuck with New England have been rewarded mightily over the past few years.
I Love football from high school level to the pros but I especially love college football. There is no money involved and those boys really go for the gusto. Yeah Vince Young
You can find me watching every weekend and Monday nights too.

GO Pats!!!!!

My team, the Oakland Raiders, didn't even come close to making the playoffs this year.

Ha ha, I'm like your husband, I do really silly and funny things when the 9ers play well or play bad. Have to videotape myself someday watching the 9ers play, it should be very entertaining

My hubby is a very calm, quiet person. Nothing rattles him, except his Broncos. It's really funny. And don't even give him a football during the game! That's why when I watch "Remember the Titans" the movie, I laugh every time at the end. He's just like that!

Maureen, I love football so much, I go to the H.S. games here to support my 2 students who play. Our H.S. games are almost as good as college games. Oh, I forgot, I get in free. I'm a teacher!
