The sign actually says no dogs on the beach. I think the other things are meant to apply to dogs not on the beach - the sign itself isn't on the beach by the look of it.

I think it means that dogs aren't allowed on the beach from 9am - 5pm but that dogs are welcome on the beach from 5:01pm to 8:59am during which time you must pick up after them and keep them leashed.

I read it the other way.. From 9:00 - 5:00 the dog needs to be on the leash and you need to clean up after him.

I read it that if you want to bring your leash on the beach, a dog is required...

Im pretty sure macroimage has it right.

The sign is at the bridge/entrance on to the beach. Technically on the beach. We believe its no dogs 9-5 and leashed all other times. It is kinda confusing.
I've never seen "dog droppings" on a sign like this, I guess that's why I found it funny...

It's located at Jacksonville Beach, Florida

Second one is from Wickes. Red Pencil Prices? Thought they were meant to go down!?
