hey wow, just found this thread. i am in the burbs west of boston but would definately be down to meet up some time. do you guys have a regular meet up schedule or just on the fly? excuse me for not wanted to search through 49 pages to find out.

Cool for me, but if we want to catch the sunset then we should be someplace worthwhile at 4:00. If not we can probably meet at 5:00 when it's officially dark.

Same place, 3-4pm i guess. Not a minute over 4 though. We have to have everyone collected.

I say 3:30, and then head over to East Boston exactly at 3:30. The color will come out starting just after 4:00. I checked the maps and the sun declination at time of sunset, and LoPresti Park looks like it would have the best angle to get a sunset over the skyline. However, Piers Park isn't too shabby either, and it doesn't have that kinda-ugly spit of "land" sticking out into the harbor. Also, I Google Earth'd the next pier down from Piers Park, which is also a possibility since it sticks out further. We should be able to park at Piers Park and walk over and out to the end of that next pier.

That is, if everyone *wants* to shoot the skyline from there again. I am certainly up for other ideas.

Sure, 3:30 it is. I was out at the waterfront today and the sun set at 4:57. So we'll be good to make our way to E.Boston by then.

Yeah, but you can start getting color at 4:15, particularly high in the sky which is what we'd want - to see color above the skyline.

I should be there my son got a deer today just finished cleaning it will let it hang until sunday if it doesn't get to warm tomorrow I'll give either mumbles or scoties a call if I am not able to get there.
