After reading so many reviews and infos about the Canon 6D, I'm still wondering
who came with this huge mistake, not having a great autofocus on a $2000 camera.

Sure it has GPS, WiFi......got a full frame camera at a neat price, but what
does it give you to have all this mojo without a good autofocus, or should I say a fast and great autofocus.

We all know that the autofocus is a MUST for high end camera, and yet Canon produce
something similar as the 5dmkII that was made 4 years ago.
Its not that its bad, its got competition, its technology that Canon has already, so why not use it.

In my book, they really did not respect the customer, I'd rather have no GPS and get a proper autofocus!

gee......

They're not going to give the 6D features which will cut into the sales of the 5D3.

Sure, BUT other cie did that without a problem.

My main point is

Why not give people what they need, without taking all their money.
Maybe a $150 more would have been a great thing.
Like I said, GPS, is not really my cup of tea, BUT fast autofocus I could use a lot more often.

I'm not trashing, I'm more in a wonder mode, why.........
In a near future, i'm sure they will regret that decision....

It was a huge mistake in the MkII and it took Canon over 3 years to fix their mistake. In the 6D though it's appropriate as its their low end full frame camera. I don't see what your complaining about. Want great AF, shell out 3k for the MkIII. Want to spend less, shell out 2k for the 6D. Want to spend even less and get 90% of what the other two have, pick up the MkII. It still holds it own against both Canon's full frame entries especially in the IQ department.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

About the 90% i'm not sure you got the equation right.
I'd go further as saying it's maybe 50% the amount of picture quality when having
a person or something going slightly fast towards you.....or a bird, or ......

Then again, why not just have the technology and applying it to every camera, the 7D
has it.......why not the 6D????

I could buy another brand camera, and get a great lens for the price of the 5D mkIII (you know what I mean) but i'm not there yet! I don't mind having two different camera.

That way I could tell Canon, that i'm not happy bout the autofocus.....

The whole thing is not cool at all.

I'm too picky?

The 6D was built down to a price point, similar to the 60D.
Build quality, focal points, are all features that are sacrificed when downgrading.

If the 6D had autofocus as good as the 5D3 in terms of outer points and AIServo, a lot less 5D3s would sell.

That's the unfortunate tragedy of marketing concerns.

For a person who only uses center-point in OVF mode, though, the 6D's AF is state-of-the-art. It is so much better than the 5D2's AF. My 6D focuses well at f/8 when tricked, and focuses in a closet in a room with only weak bounced light from the window. The first week I had the 6D, I walked into Central Park in NYC at night and tried the AF on unlit tree branches against the sky, and it focused accurately on the branches.

I'm sure that Canon is hoping that there are people with money to burn, who buy both the 6D and the 5D3, to get the best of both, when needed.

Yeah, I understand that, and am well aware, but c'mon....i'm not talking big megapixel,,
not talking bout all the mojo the 5d3 has,not talking bout dynamic range, i'm talking bout auto-focus.

Its like having a video game console, and not having the cpu to drive the video card.
Whats the need???
