Hello,

I have just bought a G3 with a 512 card. So far i love it, i just wish the aperture would go to f16, but oh well.
I look forward to contributing to this forum. And seeing other enthusiat's work.

and dont get alarmed by the butt loader.

Why? Even at f/8, the depth of field is extremely extended (more so than many 35mm format lenses can boast at f/16).

And with an ISO that can be set all the way down to 50, a shutter that tops out at 1/2000 sec., and the G3's built-in 3-stop neutral density filter, it's not like the lack of stops smaller than f/8 will typically prevent proper exposure in even very bright scenes.

Hello!!! Nice to get some feedback. I come from a AE 1 background not digital so please excuse my lack of knowledge on digital .

Well ive been using my AE1 50mm 1.4 lens(canons widely prefered refernce lens) religiously for a while now, compared to the 1.8 lens im talking about a big difference is sharpness. Even at f16.

As you might already know f8 is considered the "what the hell aperture", if you are not sure of the setting/situation "F8".

Digital Photography is new to me so im basing my aperture tests on my AE1.

As for settings ive been using the ISO 50, because of finer grain. which brings me to my question of "how does a G3, interpret grain??After all this is digital so grain shouldnt matter Once again im refering to my film experience. ISO 100 has been my standard for developing in a darkroom. Very little grain. Fuji has been good to me for nature photograph, and kodak great for sunsets and anything red/orange.

I guess im heading to the digital darkroom now. To adjust cmyk settings.. darn......
