Dusted off the 7D today since it's my most weather sealed body. It was nice shooting with it again, got a bit of salt water past the lens seal on the mount though. Believe I got most all of it out with some alcohol wipes though.

Not as bad as the forecast had us thinking. Just a bit rough by the sea but I don't think flooding was much of an issue for anyone just morons like myself who felt the need to get up close.

my 7D is gonna start getting a weekly workout...my daughter starts TBall games tomorrow...kinda looking forward to using it, the ergonomics of the Canon bodies is still what seems to fit the best for me.

I am still hanging on to mine. It doesn't fetch any real dollar in the used market but there's an array of L quality EF-S lenses that can be had for cheap, and its sensor although showing its age still trumps most mid range point and shoots especially when paired with that machine gun shutter and focus ;) :D

Even though I've gone to Fuji and still have a lot of Canon glass, my 7d/100-400 will stay as my wildlife/birding set up. If you can get in close and don't have to crop too heavily it can still nail a great image. With the mk2 versions of the 7d and 100-400 out now I would probably get peanuts for them anyway. Plus I much prefer the trombone zoom of the original 100-400, the amount of times I had my 70-200 on and forgot to zoom because I was so used to the 1-4 you wouldn't believe. Even when I was close enough to say ducks in the park to use 200mm, I would find myself still at 70mm ? ? ? It's me I know, but I've shot that combo since 2010 and feel very comfortable with it.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
