mc open mic pictures

here are a few pictures i took at a local open mic event
helpful critiques greatly appreciated

I really like these, as they seem to tell a story, and you have a nice movement in the pictures, which adds a real level of dynamicity to them. The black and white works really well - the graffiti is really colourful, but I think that the people in the background would be too distracting in colour. Also - you might blur them out a little to further draw viewers' attention to the group at the front.

Really like them!

P.s. having had a second look, how did you convert them to black and white? I think you could get some more impact with some more contrast in there.

i used the chanel mixer and monochrome fetures in photoshop to make them black and white

Do you mind if I try boosting the contrast on one of them? I think they could look even stronger.

Ok - to be honest, I added the noise, because I thought it suited the type of photos. All I did was apply USM (15,50,0) for local contrast enhancement, and then played with levels until I got the result I was looking for.
