Lots of heavy, saturated lighting at this show. I tried my best to correct it in LR, but most images were still too extreme. So I cheated and converted them to b&w. I was really happy with how they turned out though. :)

Like all of your work of late, these are awesome ... #1 sets the standard pretty high, but the rest don't disappoint at all. #4 has a really classic gig feel to it ...

Thanks! I just wish you could see the other guitarist in #4. I really liked the composition though, so I included it in the set.

I really like the composition, as before, I think it has a classic gig feel to it, the guitarist moving through the frame, both of them doing their thing ... the second guitarist might add to it, but I don't miss him too much.

Love these! Mastodon is one of my favourite bands.

Did someone complain about your old watermark?

Solid set. The only nitpicks: Obscured guy in #4, bit more headroom in #1 would have been nice I think & maybe frame #3 more to the right.

Thanks Tim! How was the lighting when you shot them?

Again, the last shot is my favourite. I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately! :)

My website has my most recent work - macro photography (external link), live music photography (external link) and am working on a book focusing on Brisbane live music (external link) as my way of giving back.
I also have some photography tips (external link) for those with new cameras.

Love 'em!
How is b&w cheating? I tend to do the opposite: I'll try b/w first, and bring back color if for some reason the shot doesn't work as a b/w. Anyway that's my preference.
I like the energy conveyed in No2 and the fact that it's a whole band shot. I also like no4's composition, but I agree it would improve it a lot if the other drummer wasn't hidden behind the leg of the other.

Thanks! Yeah, I love my 5D MKIII. The high ISO performance on that cam is no joke!
