Default Guitarist -10 minute slot

For Australia Day the local govt put up a stage and PA. There was quite a variety of performances by individuals and groups.

Each performance was limited to 10 minutes, like some sort of audition. It was a good result - performers simply had to "go for it".

I like my pic. Av ailable light. ISO200 handheld. 135L

Hi Carzee,

Awesome shot!

1/3500th - damn that's fast, but at f2.5 who could blame it

Great DOF. I would have liked to get out on Thursday, many great photo opps... but as usual for this time of year, i was at work working towards a deadline.

OH well, maybe next year

Rob

Nice shot but a pity it's OOF (focus is on the arm as far as I can tell)

I had a 100% check, it is locked near the forearm - the eyebrow is soft.

Lucky I took at spare at f4.5 -my camera driving is improving - thx to POTN!

I just noticed his shoe is holding down his music sheets. And thats what he's looking at. Irish/celtic music.

I like the shot a lot.......the only thing I would do is clone out that pole that is sticking out of his head!! I took some similair shots last year at a folk-festival here in London and with these make-shift stages it is often hard to find the right composition and the WB under the canopies is sometimes hard to correct even when shooting Raw! Nice job though...........

I know it's something beyond your control but, when shooting from behind a performer, it's always great to get a nice crowd visible in front of the performer...

The people were there but not in the direction of the shot. There was an opening backstage with some steps and no security, so I took a couple of shots and had to move to make way for the next performers in the queue. I took their picture and it is even better. I was on a roll...

here's the thread for the shot at the steps just mentioned:

Oh yeah, it sent a shiver thru me of memories singing full as boot with mates at the pub.

This was the tune that did it -
