The game will last 7 days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions at any time. This is a good competition for learning new methods, so let's make it a bit more dynamic. I will be judging edits, not comments. Feel free to comment on the original image as well.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #488".

Submissions end, Wednesday, Sept 11, 2013 at 9:00 PM (NE time) and a winner will be announced.

Removed spots, adjusted sharpness, clarity, and vibrance in ACR. Removed dark area in upper left, added sunspot and lens flare in Photoshop, local adjustments to eyes and mouth, more subtle skin smoothing, curves adjustment in LAB color, then crop to 1:1.

Here is my attempt. I did this is Photoshop touch for android. Simple levels, brightness, contrast, and lens flare adjustment. then cropped. Unfortunately ps touch can't open .cr2 files, so I was stuck with the jpeg

I stuck with the fall/golden theme, as I felt it fit the environment well. I also cropped the image to better fit the rule of thirds.

I split the image into three layers. One for the skin and background, one for the hair, eyes, and mouth, and one for the irises.

I first used the spot healing brush to clean up the skin on her face, neck and arms. I then added a blur and masked off her hair, eyes, and mouth. I sharpened the hair, eyes, and mouth layer and used the sponge tool to whiten her teeth a little as well as clone tool the highlights above her teeth. I brightened and saturated the iris layer in Adobe Camera Raw filter, then masked off everything except the irises. Finally, I added a new layer to use the spot healing brush to clean up the dust in the air.

Not sure if I'm in time, but wanted to get in on this. I did this late last night so I'm not certain on exactly what I did. I know I dodged the left side of her face, shifted the background to green, removed some blemishes and rearranged the background with some fill, and cropped it. Oh, and white balanced of the letters on the shirt.

Good entries here. Liked the different directions people took this.

Gotta give this one to Jerr6. Skin tone is perfect, and I love the golden copper tones he brought out.

You're up Jerr!
