Default The Tourists

I caught these people doing what I was doing. . . . sightseeing. This is a pretty severe crop, but I like how Alcatraz can be seen at the top of the shot. I hope you like it.

That's an impressive view of the city, John. It really gives you a feel for life in SF.

Thanks Stan. It was a much wider view, but the people down below us were so obvious in the shot, and I felt the need to use that.

For a severe crop thats a very sharp image.
I don`t think they will see much from down there, will they?

Yes Dimitri, that is Alcatraz Island. I'm glad I did mention it for the benefit of my friends across the pond. Hopefully, you know a little about it's history.

I really don't know what those people were doing. If they were taking pictures, they sure weren't seeing what we were.

Anyhow, thanks for looking and for the comments.

I really like the way the buildings in this photograph give it the quality of a mosaic: well done, John!

Nice shot

I've never seen SF from that view.

For some reason when I 1st looked at the shot it reminded me of Rio.

I picked Alcatraz off in the distance. Very nice shot.
wow does everyone live in apartments ?

I guess we see SF so often in tv shows but from different angles. This is cool.

Well done John.

Buggbairn: Scottie, thanks for the reply. You're right, it isn't what normally comes to mind when we think of S.F. I'm glad you liked it.

Desertraptor: There are a lot of apartment buildings there because of limited real estate. I guess that also makes it quite expensive. Thanks for looking.

I thought I left a comment on this one...I guess not! I really like this picture. You really made the most of the portrait configuration to eliminate all the extra stuff, yet included so much. Not just your typical WA landscape. Very unusual and very well done.

Very nice comments jfrancho. It did begin as a typical WA shot, but just as you said, it failed at having any single focus point.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes misskitty, I got several of the bridge. Here is one that I posted a couple weeks ago.
