Sadly, the Dell currently sells at $3,500. That's lens money!

Is it IPS? If not it's not worth it.

IGZO supersedes IPS technology.

Hopefully it is. Along with an 16x10 aspect ratio.

Didn't know that it was IGZO. Also, the aspect ratio is 16:9. Nice looking monitor, but not $3,500 nice.

For photography, if one were to dump that kind of money on just a monitor, a much better investment would be the Eizo CG276. At $2,500 it's still not cheap by any means, but I'd rather have an extremely color accurate, self-calibrating, uniform display.

This is the same screen/tech as the Asus PQ321Q, just rebranded as Dell, and it uses two panels glued together. The left and right halfs each have their own display scalers, and this causes some problems in cases where the driver or program can't span the screens properly. For instance, when booting up, the windows boot screen will be displayed on only one half and rotated 90°.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.
