Firstly, let me apologise for a slightly late response - time zones didn't work well for me!

A great set of pictures - thank you! I was expecting we would get several pictures of trees in the mist, and indeed we did.

Scatterbrained's photo was lovely and restful. I could almost hear the muted lapping of the water on the shore at the close of a quiet evening.

Krittski's photo, on the other hand, had lovely early-morning golden colours. In this the mist was there, but visibility was also reduced by the trees.

M-six gave us a picture that made me feel cold, with a delicate pink toning. The reduced visibility made this barn (?) seem almost alone in the world. Peaceful, or scary?

lehmanncpa took us to the edge of the world; a gentle black-and-white shot that highlighted an attractive old lighthouse.

Ace and Deuce gave us a bird navigating between blurred trees, a just out-of-shot sun going to burn off the fog soon.

Maureen's impediment to visibility took us somewhere warm, I think. Is that steam rising from the water? Volcanic pools, perhaps? The colours are beautiful, and a contrast to the gentle muted tones of the other photographs in this competition

Kevan's shot takes us back to monochrome, with a wonderful reflection of a duck stretching its wings.

Engineersix shows us a beautiful watch which I guess is in water?

kbColorado reinterprets the theme wonderfully, giving a completely different reason for visibility to be reduced

Loky gives an amazing splashdown picture - Disneyworld?

Finally EnfieldRyder takes us above the clouds, with mountains poking through the clouds, the clouds which prevent us from seeing the sea-level ground.

And so I have to come to a decision. Which is really hard.

An honourable mention has to go to kbColorado, I laughed out loud at your photo and came close to choosing it. But my winner is Ace and Deuce - there is something about the bird that just gets workds for me.

Congratulations Ace and Deuce - your turn! And thank you to everyone who entered.

Judging was really quite hard work, and rather scary!
