My newly purchased Kenko bayonet adapter tube will not come off the G3.
When I press the G3 release button, I can rotate the tube, but when I try to seperate it from the G3, it will not release on one site. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know a solution? I am a bit reluctant to apply too much pressure in case I break something. Bruce |

You will just have to keep fiddling with it until it comes off. As you say it is just one side. Be very careful though so the plastic bayonet does not get damaged. Try to 'feel' the alignment and rock the tube up and down whilst gently pulling. I had the same problem, I think it is caused by burrs on the metalwork. I do believe that the problem is referred to on the Lensmate website. When I got the damn thing off I rubbed down the burrs on the raised parts of the metal casting and it comes off ok now. There is some play in the adapter and this has also been referred to in previous posts. The adapter tube rotates several degrees when 'locked' Paul |

Thanks Paul,
I managed to get it off using your suggestions. I couldn't find any burs on the metal, but did notice some fine shavings of plastic that had come off and collected in the G3 bayonet. I cleaned these out and attached the tube again. In now comes off much with much less fuss. Thanks again. Bruce |

I had the same problem.
In my case (and possibly you folks also), it was dark out when I put the adapter on the camera, and I didn't realize that I was not aligning the marks on the adapter and camera properly. I guess I incorrectly assumed that it would only fit on in one position. Anyway, I contacted Lensmate and inquired about this problem. In an email response from them they implied that I was the first person to report this problem. Looks like other people experience it also. I was able to force it off, and don't see any damage. Just wanted to let other people know about this so they will not have this happen. |

Bruce is refering to a problem with a Kenko adapter. I think you are refering to a problem with a Lensmate adapter. Paul |
