Default First Mac - networking question

So I bit the bullet and finally got a Mac (iMac G5). So far I love it - secretly wanting my Sony Vaio laptop to die a sudden death so I can get a PowerBook I gave up hope on my IBM desktop a couple of years ago!

Anyway, my question. Supposedly I can easily network the Mac with my Vaio through the wireless network. The Mac picked up the network no problem but I don't see the Mac from the Vaio. I've enabled file sharing on both units and my ISP shows they are both connected to my home network. The Vaio is running XP. Anyone have any ideas how I can get the file sharing working?

Cheers!

I can't say for sure, but have you checked...

System preferences >sharing >services >windows sharing.

That might help if it is not checked.

Yup, had that checked off - thx for the try Graham.

I'm sure it's easier than it appears - maybe I'm over analyzing it

It works both ways. You could try connecting to the mac via the pc, if you are more familiar with it.

It does work, but I am not too familiar with xp, so can't really help further. The mac should be willing and able to do what you want though.
