Cool Weddings and appetite

Does anyone else find that on a wedding day they eat double to triple what they usually eat? I added it up... today I ate:
- three snickers/bars, with nuts in 'em
- an apple
- seven chicken rolls (twice the size of my fist each)
- a wedding dinner, with 4 meats, plate piled high
- two servings of dessert
- a big breakfast bar
- misc cheese and crackers
- 6 glasses coke, 4 diet coke, a couple of liters of water
- a sultana bran bar
- probably other stuff too

I'm still hungry.

Well, I hardly eat at all.... but I assume you need the extra boost for your blood sugar, to stay on top of things.

I usually sit and study for 12 hours a day and go to gym every other day for an hour or so.

Whenever I get outside and start moving a lot... or when I go to a beach and do physical exercise for the whole day I can eat a LOT.

But if it's a tourist trip, I usually adjust after 2-3 days of activity.

From a practical viewpoint, If I don't pack in a solid, balanced breakfast with a lot of fluids (coffee, fruit juice is excellent) prior to embarking on an 8-10 wedding day, I run into energy trouble at about hour 6 or so. Of course I'm in my 50's so I don't have the sustained high energy level of you young pups, even with my weight lifting and treadmill . Bottled water, granola bars or trail mix will give a good energy boost.

Yeah, I have a sweet tooth also...the cakes and other things are always tempting, along with the soft drinks; bad calories at my age. If I eat too much junk the day of the shoot, I feel it the next morning.

I actually read about a wedding photographer that got a food poison by some of the finger food at the wedding.... so be careful out there (I'd only bring my own snacks).

I eat a lot of cheese and crackers, don't really eat that much at the dinners since most of the time the food isnt' all that good.
We did have lobster and steak at one event that was pretty decent.

On Saturday I had four meats all roasted on a spit (lamb, chicken, pork, beef), misc salads, and a great light chocolate cake for dessert. Yummy. Wedding food here is always good.
