This is a picture I took of Prospect Park in Brooklyn after the recent snowfall. This is my first posting here and I am happy to hear any comments or criticism. Right off the bat I think that I should have had more of the top of the tree and sky in the composition.
I am pretty new to photography in general and I am trying to learn as much as I can, so any input would be helpful. This forum has been a great resource so far.

Oh well. I guess this image didn't generate much interest. Back to the drawing board...

Its a nice image, but i think it has suffered in compression. It doesnt look sharp atall. In fact it looks out of focus. What settings did you use for the shot? Maybe it was camera shake in those cold conditions.

Well, I did end up re-saving the jpeg a bunch of times trying to get it below 100 kb, which was the maximum size that the forum would let me upload, so maybe that caused some problems. Is there a better way to post images here? Do most people end up storing the photo at another site and just uploading the link as opposed to uploading the images directly to this site?
To answer your question, I don't have the camera settings with me at the moment, but the original image was sharp. I will try to repost the image if I can figure out a better way to do it.

Do you have a version of photoshop? If so. open the file, go to save for web, resize the image so the longest side is 800pixels, then adjust the quality to get to 100kb. That should give you a sharp picture to post.
Look forward to seeing it.

Thanks for the tip. I will try that. Unfortunately I am currently away from my home computer which has the photo file, so I won't be able to try it out for a couple of hours, but it sounds simple enough. Thanks again.

Interesting photo, and evidently a well trodden path judging from the footprints and trails. Does it go anywhere interesting?

The part that is visible in this photo leads onto a large clearing which is partly visible on the left. There are a number of smaller trails in other areas of the park. It is a fairly large park, about half the size of Central Park, with a lake and anumber of other points of interest.
