can you go into this a little deeper. I'm seriously considering the sigma (after I change my 50 1.8 for a 50 1.4). Anything you have to say about the sigma would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me if you'd like, I don't want to hijack the thread.

Took delivery this morning. took this tonight at work.

I'd say its usable at 1.4, very usable. straight out of camera.

I dunno about that Andy. What can you really use a picture of your lens cap for?

Tis a great lens, indeed! You have to respect the super shallow DOF and take multiple shots with re-focuses to make sure you don't miss it unless you are far away), the DOF up close is about an inch

Here's one shot with the EF 50mm f1.4 on a 5D. Av was 1.4. ISO was 1600. Tv was 1/100. Cheers.
