Default Indoor Rodeo - 4 images

I thought I would try my hand at shooting an indoor rodeo locally here. The lighting was horrid but it was fun nonetheless. I'm not totally thrilled with the results and will go back again to give it another go. I tried some with the flash and some at ISO3200 without.

Seems like it would be a tough sport to shoot as there is no telling where the bull will decide to go.. and each round is so quick. Nicely done.... thanks for sharing.

Amazingly enough he got up and walked out of the ring. Some of these riders were as young as 16. You have to have alot of courage to do this.

There were 26 riders and only 1 left in an ambulance. Not very many of them made the 8 seconds.

Great action shots Sheldon. Those indoor rodeos are fun, you sure get lots closer thatn you do at the Calgary Stampede. Some of the small town outdoor ones are fun too, will have to take my camera to some this summer.

Now, to get the right lens.......

I really like the last 2 shots with no flash. Very good shots even with the high ISO you had to use. You must have shot these in Taber by the looks of the phone numbers in the billboard ads in the background. I'm going to go to the indoor rodeo in Medicine Hat on March 11th & 12th (I think?) and see if I can get some decent shots there. They should have the TV lighting turned on in the arena for that event and its great for shooting without a flash.

I've seen your work here many times but didn't realize we were so close geographically.

I would be thrilled with those photos...great job and expecially on a subject not much seen on here!

After you shoot in badly lit areans and gyms you appreciate the quality job you did!

Look pretty darn good to me, I would never guessed you shot at such a high ISO. Nice job.
