Only had a quick look, but the removal of the SX 50 control wheel is a massive plus for me!

Honestly a little disappointed in it. Was really hoping for significantly more zoom. Initial reports had it at 100x. It's also 3200 Iso instead of 6400 that the Sx50 was. Not really jumping to upgrade from 50x to this one. If it would have been more zoom, my credit card would have been out to preorder upon notification, but 165mm difference is not enough more me to jump on it. Was really hoping for that zoom.

I agree. My initial reaction is that it isn't enough of an improvement to make me want to get rid of my sx50. I would have liked to have seen more on the longer end. Not sure about the decrease from 6400 to 3200, but I wouldn't be going that high with the sx50 anyway. Now, if the sx60 is clean at 3200, I might be tempted.

Well, when you look at the zoom, the difference between 24 mm and 21 mm EFL is not insignificant. Kudos to Canon for letting it go markedly wider.

^^ No argument there. I'm sure that there are many that are happy with this. I shoot a lot more telephoto, and have only used the widest focal length a few times. I'm not complaining - I just don't see a lot here that will make me want to pay to upgrade. No problem, as overall I am really happy with the sx50 as an alternative to my dslr.

Seems to be a lack of interest in this camera for some reason.

Possibly because it's not yet shipping.

How do they sell it for $499 and say it's in stock and ships within 24 hours? I didn't think it was even ready to ship until October. Seems a little fishy to me.

It could be the Asian or European market version that always shows up in market many months earlier than American version.
