Another Great Gray Owl
I wanted to share mine. I went to MN last Febuary to see the Invasion. We saw 103 GGOs in one day. What a special trip. What a special bird.

Excellent shot of this amazing creature. Nice detail and exposure with great environment ( snow on branch).
I saw 3 in 1 hour last year and it was reported almost 100 were in the Ottawa vicinity during that invasion. This year....very rare with only 4 reported so far as I know so I count myself as very lucky to have seen and photographed one again this year... I am hoping a few more show up in the next couple of weeks.  Thanks for sharing!!

rathke: Very sweet image.
You were probably shooting in my back yard. I was lucky enough to make several trips to the Sax-Zim Bog area north of Duluth last winter. Lots and lots of GGO and northern hawk owl images. Great birds, aren't they?

We drove in from WI (I grew up there) and saw lots off of Hwy 48 north of Pine City. I want to come back some future winter to bird/photograph.
