I just recieved mine. First I was like "why isn't it focusing?!" hehe. Focus is fast and you can't even hear it. It looks really sharp fully open, awsome lens.

Mine might make it tomorrow! I am thinking Friday though. I did the cheap shipping.

I placed the order too late Fri at B&H so, it was Monday when the order was processed.

I am looking forward to seeing some pics! Tell me all about how nice it is and stuff, so I can be jealous for a day or two. I am getting a 50 1.4 in the same shippment!

Well I got mine used from the Marketplace here. It is coming to work so I will bring the camera so I can play with it at lunch. Congrats on the 50 as well. I think my 50 1.8 will be up for sale soon.

i've been reading all the post on this thread and i just got my new xti with kit lens today - i'm new to DSLR world. and i was thinking of getting the 50mm 1.8 as my 2nd lense. would it be wise to skip the 50mm 1.8 and just get the 85mm instead ? thanks
