I know this is a Canon forum, but it is always fun to shoot with the iPhone as well! I mean it's right there in your pocket! Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised on how good this camera is!

I wasn't entirely sure which sub-forum to start this thread in. Hope I chose the right one! If not, moderators please move the post into the correct location. Thanks!

This thread is for users with the iPhone 6 and 6 plus, as well as all other iPhones.

I just got the iPhone 6 plus and tried it out in my back yard. I couldn't believe the clarity of the fly that decided to photo bomb my shot! This shot is uncropped/unedited except for a few minor touches on the color that I am starting to think twice about. The auto focus is quite amazing on this camera!

Premature lemon. iPhone 6 plus. 100% unedited and uncropped. I might touch up the colors a bit later.

After they solve the low light quality noise/overprocessing (iPhone 6 Plus example: http://cdn0.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net ...0Plus/Images/LowLight.jpgexternal link), they will become very useful as portable cameras.

That's why its fun to take photos with the iPhone! It's some what of a challenge to get a really good photo. Most of the photos are really good don't get me wrong, but I agree with the low light noise. Its better but not quite there yet.

I'm behind by a few generations and the low light noise on the 4S can be brutal. The noisy images can make for some nice grainy black & white photos though.

Alan, your outdoor shots are nice and clean. If you haven't tried it yet, Snapseed is a must have app for image editing. It's made by Nik (now owned by Google), it's free, and has lots of tools for global and local adjustments, sharpening, B&W conversion, HDR and grunge effects. Lots of fun to play around with.

Thank you! I actually do have Snapseed and have been using it for a while now. Also with the new iOS8, now the photo app actually has most of the adjustments Snapseed has. I know some of these photos could be better edited and touched up, its just fun sometimes to see what the camera can do by itself!

PS: The camera in the iPhone 6 is much better for low light and across the board than the 4s camera. I had the iPhone 5 (which has the same camera as the 4s) and the quality difference is quite large with my new iPhone 6 plus. I just wish they upped the megapixels as well.

I have to say my 6 Plus has been partly at fault for my drop in interest in my DSLR. These things really take great shots! I went to Vegas and for the first time in a long time I went on a vacation without bringing my DSLR. And I had no regrets!
