Default New 50mm - Baby in Natural Light

I received my new 50mm f/1.8 today so I took some shots of my daughter. I'm really pleased with it for the price! I'm not used to being able to shoot with such an open aperature so I need to get used to that. My dof was way too shallow in several of the shots. I think these were good, though. Comments and critique welcome, as always. The second shot was an accident, but I like something about it Thanks for looking!

I love the second one! A nice deep B&W would be very framable. Nice work.

Thanks all for the comments. I am loving my new lens so much better than the kit lens. I can't believe the price since it will be ten years before I can save up for one of those fancy L's

I took ryno4youth's advice and did a bw conversion on the second one. I haven't done too many conversions, what do you think?

Thanks again for looking!

The 2nd one was my favorite too--I like the BW conversion! I'm excited to get one of those 50mm myself!

I like them all, including the B&W conversion. Nice job. Glad you are enjoying your 50.

For the price, that lens can't be beat. Congrats on the cute baby and the good glass!
