Looks like the rumored price will be around 499 Euros! This is exactly what I was hoping for, a relatively low cost fast wide angle walk around lens :D

I wonder what the 21mm converter will cost... either way, I'm now super excited for this lens and I had to share :)

Im curious about the 16 mm converter. Dont think there is a 16 F/2.0 in the market. This would be a first!

That's a solid point... I had forgotten about that one because it's a fisheye, but if the converter is similarly priced to the Samyang, I'd definitely think about picking it up.

Yes sir. I will be looking for review of this when they release :)

I definitely NEED this lens like now lol. I only have the 55FE as it stands. Sold the 35FE, great lens but if I used the 55 90% of the time because of the faster aperture.

I also had the 24-70FE but ended up selling because I never used it passed 24mm so at over 1k for a 24mm f/4, it wasn't gonna cut it for me.

The 28/21 combo will be a nice change from the 55 and with IBIS with my a7II, it will be a great travel lens for wide shots and quick video clips. Hurry Sony! :P

man, I'm kinda interested about the 24-240 tbh. Would be a nice travel/hiking lens to pair up with my primes. Been waiting for something like that.

Good news, it's now up for pre-order from a HK retailer for $459! This should mean it'll be right around $500 here in the states! They also have it listed to ship from March 13th :)

The first review of this lens can be found hereexternal link. ;-)a

Pros:
  • Very sharp straight from the maximum aperture. At f/2.0 is sharp almost ont he entire frame (with very little loss on corners)
  • Negligible distortion
  • Very compact lens
  • When using the converter EXIF data gets correctly transmitted
Cons:
  • close focus point could be…closer
  • The fisheye converter on the 28mm lens is quite heavy
  • Not really a very good bokeh (but that’s something the lens is not designed for)

Did anybody pre-order this bad-boy? I'm anxious to see some shots!

I'm torn between buying it or the FE 55/1.8 for myself for my birthday

I got mine today, unfortunately I haven't really had much time to shoot with it. If I feel like editing in the morning tomorrow I'll post my first few shots around the house of the cat and girlfriend, but for now here's my thoughts on it.

I'm blown away by the feel of it. I don't know what I was expecting, but this thing feels like one of the nicest modern lenses I've owned. I'd say even nicer than the build of my XF 18-55mm, which I always thought had a very nice build and feel to it. It's also amazingly light... so much so that I was certain the box it was shipped in was empty  The AF is completely silent and seems surprisingly quick (this is my first AF lens for my a7S and was expecting it to be really slow based on the feedback most people give).

So far, I'm a very happy camper :)

Just got mine on Monday. Loving the feel of this tiny lens. I have the 24-70, but sometimes wont bring it out because it's still just a tad too big to throw in the bag and leave.

My 5D2 + 40mm pancake was a beautiful combo, and I definitely welcome this lens.

It's good enough for casual, around the town shoots. I plan to get the fisheye.

Having the 24-70, 28, and fisheye is pefect for vacation.

These are cross-posted from the FE lens thread, but this thread lacks any pictures from this lens and that's just wrong!

^ Looks great Lucas!

This may be my next FE lens. It's a great value from what I've read.

Can yall share some good reviews of it you've discovered?
