i just borrowed thins lens from a buddy to play around with at a wedding.. i just got a stack of prints back that i did with this lens results are AWESOME.

I know more than 2 or 3 people have this lens.

Post something.

ISO 1600, f14, 1/500. Just playing with high iso on my 30D. But the lens performed as it should have at f14.

17mm is pretty wide on full frame. I had the 17-40L twice and loved it but wanted to try something a bit different this time. I'm pleased with it so far.

I might be getting this lens, but the seller doesn't have the hood for it...
Is there some place I could get the official hood for this lens?
(or will a 3rd party hood fit?)

You would probably have to go through a dealer. You are in chicago so try Central or Calumet.

I use my hoods quite a lot because I never use filters. So I find them essential.
