Default Sigma 50-150 2.8F APO EX DC OS

Well, I couldn't find much out there (nothing really) for this lens. If there is, I apologize. Either move this or delete.

I recently picked up the new Sigma 50-150 OS lens and have been pretty happy thus far. I had a Tammy 70-200 prior to this but never used it due to the slow focusing.

I haven't really gotten to put it through the paces completely, but I will soon enough. I have a upcoming wedding that I am going to really try this out on so I will post back on the results soon.

Here's a few snaps w/ crops.

These are all straight off the camera in Jpeg format. All wide open as well.

For those of you who have additional photos to share, post them up!

You may want to ask the mods to combine this with the existing thread for this lens. Nice shots BTW.

Damn it... I tried finding that cause I thought I remembered seeing it. Searching fail.

I'll PM them.

LOL no worries, it was buried in page 5. Do you find the size/weight an issue? Are you finding the OS to live up to the 4 stop rating? Those crops are impressive. Tough decision between this and the 70-200 f4is.

I picked up this lens a few months ago and have been trying to use it in all possible conditions and scenarios - good light, bad light, portraits, landscapes.... I am pleased with how it performs.

I don't find the weight to be an issue at all personally. I like the way it handles actually... lol!

The OS seems decent. I doubt 4 stops though. My lowest sharp shot was about 1/20sec at 50mm and about 1/60-1/80th at 150mm. It still works wonders over simply not having it like my 70-200 Tammy.

I am not gonna lie that I was really tempted to get the 70-200 F4 IS as well, but I figured after hours of reading that I would be better served with a F2.8 lens.

I guess it's just you and me, ten2doyle102... I fluxuated between buying this versus the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. I already have a 100-400L, so the 70-200 seemed like a lot of overlap. I had the opportunity to try both at the same time at a concert in bad light. When I downloaded the images the quality was identical. I am still at the "Let's see what this thing will do" stage.

Nice pics magoo.

I have been playing with it a lot lately and I think its pretty darn good for the money. I'll be really putting it through the paces next weekend when I use it at my next wedding event. I'll post pics from that too.
