Default Sigma 17-70

For those that might be interested, in the past few days I did a casual test of my new canon 50mm, 1.8 and this sigma lens. At ISO 100, F8, the sigma has about the same sharpness as the Canon 50mm at F16. The Canon 50mm has a slight but clear advantage at F8. The Sigma also has a wamer color tone than the canon, which is consistent with another review I read.

I should mention that the no parking sign is in the lower left corner of the pictures.

I know there is no Camera body sample images, but maybe this will speak the idea.

The Canon 5D:

Might as well be comprehensive. Thoughts?

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=180188 for Sigma EX 18-50. This is a 100% crop 50mm, f/4, 1/125s, ISO 100 taken on an EOS 20D.

Sigma 20mm f/1.8

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=192303

And it seems like a bonus 70-200 f/2.8 thread.

Maybe http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=191527 would be a good addition to the list. I know there already is a 70-200 f2.8 non IS but this one could also be helpful.

Guess we could volunteer this for the Sigma 100-300 f/4.
