This was an experiment in lighting by placing the subject in front of a window, or as nearly as I could.

More experimentation with seasonings/powders and those small glass dishes, which are actually ashtrays.

I just noticed today, something's been eating the pink peppercorns.

Continuing with the topic of seasonings, today's subject is nutmeg. One setup, two views. The fabric is a bunched-up old dishtowel, put there to hide the line where counter meets wall and some distracting details nearby.

Sea Salt Flakes with a salt box for it and a close up of the flakes. If you view these on my Flickr page, you'll see a lot more detail.

How about testing out a new surface? I found this table in a local shop and had to buy it.

Sure. This thread could be used to show and discuss props and backgrounds. I didn't think of that originally.

I need to pay more attention to the local thrift shops. This is just the kind of thing I'd love to stumble across.

^^ Wish I could see more of that vintage table but what I can see looks great.

This isn't exactly about food but rather an alternate way to cook it. I recently purchased an Anova Sous Vide cooker and upgraded my FoodSaver vacuum sealer to boot. I use both to cook steaks, pork chops, Chicken, etc using the water immersion method.
