Default Some of My Rallye Sunseeker Efforts....

Bit rusty today, haven't shot anything moving for a few months, plus new camera so was sort of finding my way a bit with that. No work done in Photoshop other than resizing and putting my little border on. Makes a change....!

The 20D is a very different beast to the 300D. One of the things that was catching me out was the lack of shutter lag so some of my timing was all up the spout. Quite happy with the results from today though, once the season is up and running again I'm sure my shots will be a bit more refined.

Also used my Sigma 70-200f2.8 today. Have developed what I am calling "Sigma Elbow". Reason being I haven't attached the neck strap to the new body yet so spent all day carrying the camera around in my hand. Bah.

Even tried my Speedlite! Flash photography = a black art total guesswork when shooting aperture priority...one day I'll work it out!

Nice shots Dave. I like #3 & #8 - real sense of the movement in these two.

When you do work out ETTL let us all know as most are in the dark as to what Canon technicians are trying to achieve.

Enjoy the new camera.

The 20D is sweet isn't it? Nice job getting back into the swing of things.

Dave that is a cracking shot of Steve Perez in the VK Focus. I find that it's best to go manual everything (apart from focus) when using the flash on the 20D. My results improved dramatically when I did this.

Cheers,

Simon.

Well Dave, it looks like you're making a good job of getting to grips with that new 20D of yours. It's nice not having to fight against the camera, isn't it?

The VK Focus is the pick of the bunch. That's a superb shot. I like the dust and the lighting in it.

That's exactly what I did, Manual everthing! Once the light went below a certain level I was on Manual anway I think.

Exif for the Perez focus was f2.8, 1/500s, ISO400. Exif for the flash illuminated Impreza was f2.8, 1/250s, ISO400, EX430 set to manual and 1/4 power.

I'll go with the crowd. That shot of the Focus is superb, the colours are very nice indeed. I quite like the rear shot of the Mk2 Escort too.

Not a bad old combo the 20D & Sigma 70-200 is it?

I think you've showed the days action really well ! what stages did you see Dave ? love the mk2 but then I am an old fart and always love seeing a old escort spinning around. love the focus shot too , shame you couldnt get a bit of wheel motion though.
