Trouble installing software

I have windows XP and just bought the S50

Keep getting 1607 :Unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime

I contacted Canon they said the problem is my computer, so I tried everything on the InstallShield Consumer Central and still nothing, but yet I can install other software....So is it the software and should I contact Canon again?

Have you tried installing another piece of software that uses InstallShield?
