@advaitin
page 3 #37 - I like the bedroom of Van Gogh in Arles (South of France) by Van Gogh.
Could be sold today for 50 millions euros when one knows he spent his life in extreme poverty...
In Auvers-sur-Oise (near Paris) where he died and is buried, his bedroom is still the same today and can be visited for 6€.

Last year I caught a cold and my wife insisted I stay home instead of going to Paris for the Photo Exhibit in the Grand Palais. As it turned out that was the weekend of the terrorist attack. This year I'm making plans to attend again. Knock on wood and hope my health holds up. I plan to have an espresso or two and enjoy Paris once more.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

My plane from Boston to Paris was leaving an hour or so after the bombing in Paris last fall. Of course it was a mess in Charles De Gaulle airport, a lot of police and army on the streets, but still it was amazing to see how resilient the people were. The same crowds in the city cafes, people on the streets, a full house at Opera Bastille, etc. Except for the fact that many museums were closed, one would never guessed that something bad had happened.

Well talking about the attacks, some friend of mine made a giant love heart for the morning parade after Charlie Hebdo. It was such a weird time to be in Paris, but I was really proud of the people of Paris after this attack.

On a slightly happier note, I went around to my favourite secret parks and shot a whole bunch of images which I tuned into a blog. I have to admit I was really happy with the challenge. I got to see some new parks I didn't even know existed. I made a google maps as well if anyone else wants to find where they were all shot. It's at the bottom of the blog. http://www.aperturetours.com ...ris-to-these-secret-parks (external link)
