This is my first attempt at HDR. In order to get the red in the buildings to pop I would have completely blown out the sky. To get the color in the sky right the buildings are almost black. I still think the color on the buildings is a bit dark.

Comments/advice/critique is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks

When I shot my landscapes with my 7D I was forced to shoot them in brackets, so I have a stock pile of HDR landscapes of all sorts.

I think hdr is more subjective in results than typical shots. But that said the main point of hdr is to give more detail to highlights and/or shadows that would otherwise have none. So.... What software are you using? It's normally just tweaking sliders until you are satisfied though. How many shots are in your bracket, over what range of ev? I use nik but I think most software has a tone compression slider--that's what reduces the dynamic range for you and make the shadows brighter and put more details in highlights. Anyway feel free to pm. I can walk you through it.

Not from me. Ever since I got my D750 I haven't needed to do any HDR landscapes.

I've only started doing HDR's once I learned about luminosity masks.
