AirPower History Tour was giving rides on FiFi, the world's only flying B-29 Surperfortress.
FiFi's schedule brought her to Camarillo airport, CA, where I took these shots.

A ride in the bombardier seat will set you back $1495.

Nice set - I miss her already. Until last year she was based at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum but going forward she will hangar at the CAF's new home (when it is complete).

Wonderful warbird.

Great images!

The cost of the B29 program was more than the Manhattan project.

I went to see her when she arrived here in the Seattle area. Caught her flying overhead all week prior to the fly day at Paine Field and caught her at altitude. Then, when I went up to see her fly in Everett....dang Wasps were just too much maintenance to get her up in the air.

I grew up going to the Wings Over Houston show every year, so I've seen her fly before. It's definitely a thing to see. I also love that they brought her back to Boeing for maintenance this year.

Impatient Virgin is a P51B based up here--check the older canopy style.

I have some old OshKosh photos from the 70s (I think?) with FiFi in it. They were taken by my Grand father on an 35mm.

Really cool plane, they will have another flying B-29 this year, so FiFi will not be the only one.

Great series of shots . FiFi was originally based in Midland Texas and was there many years before they finally got a new engine . The CAF headquarters was in Midland but last year moved to the Dallas area . The only reason FiFi left Midland was because of a rich man bought a new engine for it and the deal was that FiFi had to move to the area close to where he lived in South Texas . The main gentleman in Midland was fired for making the transaction and no longer works for the CAF . Many people were upset over this . It's not as if it was not being seen , it went to many many airshows all over the place . However it is getting more exposure now but has cost a big loss of revenue in Midland and surrounding cities .

Interesting photos, thanks for sharing.

I see back then it belonged to the Confederate air force. Same organization today, but the name has been changed to Commemorative air force.
