Default New website - critique please

I've just put together a web site about some of the work I'm offering to local dance studios. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks.

I like the site, the only thing I would suggest to you is that when you launch for closer views, don't size the windows to small. For the many of the images, the windows don't have scroll bars and this forces the user to resize the windows. I don't know if that was your intentions or not. Kind of annoying. BTW, I'm using Firefox on OS X. I don't know what happens with other platforms.

Thanks for the feedback, Patrick. I thought about changing the images sizes to fit in the popup window, but I decided to change the code so rather than a small popup window it opens another full sized window. This should work well with a tabbed browser like Firefox or Maxthon (my preference). Also, if it happens that the window still isn't big enough, then scroll bars should be available.

Hey Dave, the new popup window code makes for a much nicer experience. I really like the simple, uncluttered design.

Another suggestion, if you don't mind. When I viewed the closer view of "Waxing Gibbous" on your gallery page, I decided to click "slideshow" instead of "close". I was quite surprised to see the "Dancing" image come up for the slideshow. I was expecting a slide show to start off with"Waxing Gibbous" or the first image on the "other works" page and then a slide show of the images from the "other works" section.

Maybe you could adjust the slideshow, so that it's a slideshow of the current page or change the label so the user is more informed of what slideshow they will be viewing if they click the slideshow button. Or maybe move the slideshow button so that it doesn't appear to be related to the current image.

I hope I'm not nitpicking but I feel that most users expectations would be very different than what currently happens.

I'll keep looking around and see if anything else comes up.

Thanks for sharing your site.

-Patrick
