Hello,
I am considering upgrading to this lens as my primary walk around lens and am interested to see some sample pics taken with a 20D or 350D, and especially some 100% crops to compare the sharpness and contrast to my EF-S 17-85 IS that this would replace. This is a very large investment for me and I want to know that it will be worthwhile on my 350D. Please post pics here, or if full size photos are too large I would appreciate very much receiving them as an email attachement sent to rollingball@ gmail. com Thanks! |

I love this lens so far. Here is a link to a previous post of mine with examples:
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=156501 Another example below (67mm; f4; ISO 800; 1/50th - available light - no sharpening on the crop - may have added some to the full shot but I can't remember). Keep in mind that this shot was hand held at ISO 800!! ![]() 100% crop: ![]()

It's great and works really well with flash.
It's my best lens investment. It stays on the body as the default lens, my wife loves it, it looks sexy, it's light and balanced, has IS, and has a great average focal length to capture almost anything as best you could with one lens. Plus, it works well with tubes (I prefer the 70-200 though).
