This critter has taken up residence in my Lavender. Not sure of it's a territorial male, or just a nesting female (the males are bigger, but I haven't seen them both yet). I've had several sessions with this bee, but I'm going to stop at three images for now and move on to pushing other subjects to my gallery.

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (from about 1.5 to 4x) + a diffused MT-24EX. These are all single, uncropped, frames taken hand held.

Technique: Check out the video (external link).

For this next shot I coaxed it into climbing onto a small Daisy after it woke up, and the critter gave me about a minute to shoot it until it fully woke up and took off.

For those interested in more details I'm working on a new series for my blog. Bee-Havior Part 1 (external link) is online.

I've put a lot of time and effort into working on my light and compositional skills. Only recently have I started trying to improve my post processing. So it's the photographer and not the gear ;)
