Congratulations on your new resolution machine Charlie.
We're on the coast of NC and I did gull BIF practice today. You will
be amazed at the AF system=as good as if not better than the 7Dii.
5fps is plenty for most birds in flight, most as in sizeable birds, so the Spoonies
and Egrets will absolutely love the 5Ds.
Only nit is the buffer but I'm spoiled by 1DXii and its endless buffer; still 13 shots
at 50.6mp (remember on your pc they swell to 70-80mp) that is impressive.
Looking forward to your highly resolved BIFs.

Thanks Robert. Love your recent imagery. It's totally killer.

Can't wait to use Michael Tapes long ruler and MA my 5Ds. So far I've had no issues getting sharp images. Going out again this morning to shoot the historic district with my 24-105 and 100- 400. Use a monopod for maximum sharpness.

The files are extremely large. They slow down my MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM. My PC just crawls along but it"s getting old in the tooth.

OK on computer speed. I'm traveling now and have with me the dinky Dell XPS Touch 13 and have no speed problems with the 70-80mb files
as long as I work in PScc and Bridge....Lightroom is like molasses. That's OK with me because I like Bridge much better than LR.

These two photos were taken just a few small blocks apart this morning. Both are in high rent areas.

Go figure.

I agree about LR Robert. I use either DxO Optics Pro 11 or Bridge after converting to a DNG.
